Contract Packing
Walkerpack is a leading provider of contract packing services to some of the worlds leading blue chip companies. We specialise in the rapid processing of customers products, packing more than 50 million parts per year and often within a few hours from receipt. Our flexible systems use barcode and radio frequency technology to ensure efficient, high quality control of our processes. We are conversant with modern management techniques and use key performance indicators to guarantee service levels. We stock and use a wide variety of packaging materials which includes customer branding for point of sale applications. We have a range of automated bagging machines for packing high volume parts.
Export Packing
Walkerpack are able to protect, pack and ship all of your products for worldwide export by air, sea or road freight. We can provide this service from one of our own secure sites or at your location. Our experienced design team is conversant with handling fragile, vulnerable and hazardous products using a wide range of quality packaging and cushioning materials to protect them. Exporting routes often subject cargo to a range of temperatures and humidity's but we can design packs to ensure that your products are safely protected from any subsequent moisture and corrosion. We provide a fast and efficient export packing service for high and low volume applications.
Packing Materials
Walkerpack hold a large stock of packing materials for all packing applications. This vast array of materials and corresponding characteristics mean that to achieve best value then materials have to be sourced from many different suppliers. The expertise of our purchasing team and their existing relationships with suppliers ensure this best value. We design, purchase and stock, dedicated packing materials for many of our contracted customers and only charge for these as we use them to pack their products. We have complex systems to manage stocks to ensure packaging availability, inventory integrity and eliminate obsolescence.
Shrink Wrapping
Walkerpack use our heat shrink wrap process to pack a wide range of products, providing cost effective protection from dirt, handling or transit damage. We also use this packing process to neatly secure and present multiple items for point of sale and it is especially suitable to ensure customers can see what parts are included in multiple kits. Opaque wrap can also be used to provide visual security. Our heat shrink tunnels range in size enabling us to pack small and large components from items such as washers to van body panels.
Kit Packing
Walkerpack build and pack kits comprising from two components up to several hundred pieces for a range of applications. Our experienced staff are conversant with the processes and controls required to ensure the integrity of complex kits. We pack kits into presentation packs for point of sale applications or simply into packs designed to protect and keep the components together until they are required.
Pack Design and Consultancy
Walkerpack design packs and products specifically to suit your needs be they protection, transit, storage or simply the most cost effective presentation. Our experienced designers use CAD with 2D and 3D capabilities to enhance this process and are up to date with latest industry principles including environmental best practice. Our designers can visit your site to establish your requirements and subsequently arrange for trial fits to ensure your complete satisfaction prior to our main production runs. We provide packing consultancy which ranges from advice on specific materials through information on packing efficiency controls to establishing completely new packing operations.
Systems and Performance
Walkerpack have our own systems team and all of our operational IT systems have been developed in house. We often use bar code and radio frequency technology to collect data from operational activities. Parts stock and status information is available to our customers via secure internet access. Our systems drive operational planning and are the basis for reporting service level performance to internal managers and to our customers. For contingency our systems are backed up automatically to disc every hour and to tape every night, an off-site backup is always kept.
