“The system utilises handheld devices running Windows software to provide bar code scanning and common functionality to our operators in the warehouse area. The system also contains a desktop component and an automation program to enable supervision and EDI respectively.

“Really without an end to end system the integrity of customers’ own stock cannot be guaranteed and then you have also to consider the importance of fast and accurate transactions such as picking, packing and put away. Finally, to be effective the reporting and KPI has to be system-based.”
